Playstore not working

I can't use Google Play Store app on my Bitmore 1060 tablet. When i run it, it says 'Unfortunately Google Play has stopped working' and then closes. What should i do to make it work? I cleared its cache and data and reinstalled but didn't helped.

The device did not come with Google Play pre-installed. I installed it myself.

That would mean it probably doesn't have the GApps framework. AFAIK you need to root it and install GApps framework to get playstore working.

I downloaded the collection of Gapps as zip and renamed to apk but does not start. There are not executable files in the zip file. Do you have a link of the framework somewhere to download it and how do i install it?

It's supposed to be in zip format. Likely you downloaded the correct file. You need to be rooted and using clockwork mod recovery to install it. I have no idea if it's possible to root your device though. First time I've heard of it.
