Playstore pop up

Lurker
I am using Android 7.1.1. Just yesterday, I started seeing an annoying pop-up from Google Play Store. After stopping all notifications, the problem continued. Then, I removed all recently installed apps, but that didn't help, either.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jake

It's most likely not the play store, but if you could get a screenshot, that would help.

What is it asking you to install?

It's more than likely a browser hijack, clear cache and data of any internet browser installed and it should remove it. You might want to backup bookmarks first as clearing data will delete them.

It's asking me to install a different app every time. That's why I suspected Play Store. But I will delete the caches of each browser, as you suggest.

Cheers,
Jake

It could, also, be a bloatware app that came preinstalled on the device. Mine came preloaded from sprint with all kinds of stuff. App Spotlight was one of the worst and did something similar to what you are describing, suggesting all kinds of games and stuff to download. I disabled the app and the ads went away.
