Pleas Help! How to replace sim reader on AT&T HTC Desire 626. Video or manual needed.

Hey everyone. My uncles AT&T HTC Desire 626 recently had an error message stating SIM card not detected. I’ve tried everything from the the tape trick to full reset. I basically got the sim so thick I could feel it contacting the reader as I pushed it in. I was wondering if anyone has any video walkthroughs replacing the nano sim reader for this particular AT&T model. I found the parts on eBay but need a walkthrough taking apart the device.. Does anyone recommend ordering a new sim tray first? Any responses would be helpful. This is my first time posting! Thanks!

Have you confirmed that the SIM works in another phone (and that a different SIM doesn't work in his)? SIM cards do fail eventually, so it's best to check that before dismantling the phone.

ano SIM card
HTC Desire 626 uses a nano SIM card.
Use a standard nano SIM card only. Inserting a modified card that is thicker than the standardnano SIM card may cause the card to not fit properly or damage the card slot.

Inserting a nano SIM card
Note:
Don't throw away the nano SIM tray.
  1. Make sure HTC Desire 626 is off and hold it securely with the front facing down.
  2. Open the slot cover with your thumb or finger.

  4. Place a nano SIM card into the tray with the card's gold contacts facing up and its cut-off corner facing out.

  5. When reinserting the tray, make sure it is facing up so that the nano SIM card doesn’t fall out. Slide the tray all the way into the slot.
