Please help auto proxy and script set up

Ok so I'm completely new at the new IT stuff on computers now days too many different things that do a bunch of other things and I have two laptops one Dell and one HP pavilion windows 10. So for some reason today I stopped having internet connection and tried to cruise around most of the morning trying to figure out what's wrong I started with internet diagnostics but it said sorry we dont know why your not getting internet but we can't fix it or tell you what's messed up then I click on help and can't get help because no internet it let me get google search and tried to get on Microsoft when I broke down after 6 hours and called HP technical service but he couldn't remotely fix it cause ...NO INTERNET LMAO so then he tries to tell me I needed a technician to fix it and asked if I had a warranty so I gave him my email and comes to find out that I don't have a SOFTWEAR warranty lol omg ...BUT...for ONLY 199.99 he will sell me one good for a year lol..uh yeah, I threatened to beat him over the head with my bible...lol so I disconnected so here I am after taking a 12 hour break and sit back down and turn on tv well turns out my xfinity got temporarily interrupted because they want 207.99 for only 1 MONTH LMFAO...i could have saved 8.00 buy getting technician to tell me same thing 12 hours ago so now I've screwed up proxy settings for address and port and don't know if I need script on or not and if so what do I put for address I gave you good story , can you give me good help in return..lol thank you

Thank you very much for all the options I can try and do. I will look up what a patch cable is and where to put it on my router unless your talking about Ethernet cable and if so that's not working either that's why I asked about proxy and other settings. But I instead made a startup back up disk and did restore which fixed thing for about two minutes then I guess that's when my service got disconnected, but I'll have it paid wenesday
I’m not sure if this will help now, but in the future, if you’re on a laptop and suddenly can’t get to the internet, there are a couple of crude but simple tests.

One is to use a regular old patch cable and plug directly into your modem/router, so you take WiFi out of the equation. (By default your NIC settings should be dhcp, if they’re not you’d have to reconfigure to get to the web.) If that doesn’t work, then you can pretty much ignore the laptop since it’s not the reason you aren’t getting to the web.

Another option (you can of course do both) is to take your laptop to a place with public WiFi. Again, if that works, you have an indication you can pretty much ignore the laptop as the source of your problem.

Also, generally speaking, if you have two or more laptops (as well as other WiFi devices, like phones) that were working fine and suddenly aren’t, it’s a safe bet that the issue isn’t with all those devices, but rather the source.

So for where you are right now, having applied (incorrectly) skills you haven’t yet acquired (this sounds harsh, but it’s honest and something you indirectly admitted), you can either pay someone who has those skills to fix it, or you can roll the dice some more.

If you want to roll the dice, use a patch cable and plug into your router or modem. Make sure you can get to the web. If so, try updating the driver for the WiFi interface (through device manager). This is gentle and probably won’t help (updating the driver shouldn’t change settings), but it’s possible, and if it doesn’t you’re in the right place to really foul things up.

(And you may yet need to.)

Next (leave the patch cable connected) try to connect to WiFi and when it fails try the helps and auto-fixes. Since you have a path to the web through the wired NIC that may work, so cross your fingers.

If not, the next step would be to then uninstall the WiFi interface (back in device manager where you can really foul things up), as that will indeed clear the settings. Then restart the laptop and it should scan for hardware changes, find the orphaned WiFi interface and reinstall it with default settings. And unless you have wonky settings on your router, that should get you back in business. But it’s not all foolproof and it’s possible this won’t work.

So proceed with caution as you deem appropriate. And if it doesn’t work, you get a full refund of the money you paid for this free advice.

Good luck.

So it was a payment issue.....?

Yes I own property in Texas I'm leasing out and my tenant isn't paying me so the money I usually get from him pays bills and since he hasn't paid me on 15th like I was hoping my bill didn't get paid and they want 207.99 to give my services back my old man pays house note and other bills that take up all his money and my first income pays my car note and insurance and living expenses, then my 2nd income from my tenant pays trash sewer and cable but I got screwed
