Help please help g1 at 1.1

Ok, let's get the important stuff out of the way.
US T-Mobile G1 Rooted
Firmware 1.1
Baseband version - 62.50sc.20.17H_2.22.23.02
Kernal version - 2.6.25-0184-gfea26b0
Build number - kila-user 1.1 Plat-RC33 126985

I have jf 1.42 update a.d it won't allow me to update. I've downloaded other roms and saved them as update.zip into the root of the sd card. I did the nandroid backup, wiped the device and then flashed te update using the recovery screen. I originally had 1.6 on here but now no matter what I do I can't update this damn thing. Please help. I'm also not able to get any of the JesusFreke updates to load. When I had 1.6 I downloaded Rom Manager (free version)I need so much help right now. I have no internet access at home right now so I'm using the phones internet for everything. When I need to download something I pop my 16gb card in my wifes phone to download what I need.

You saying you can"t reflash ? Call T-MO and ask them to send internet settings via text messaging. Just tell them you were playing with it and you screwed something up. They'll send you a text with the proper settings that you just click & install.
Or if you can reflash to an official OTA rom and just leave it sit for a day & believe it or not you'll receive an update automatically back to 1.6 from T-MO.
