Please help!!! I believe I'm being watched

I recently separated from my husband and it seems that it doesn't matter where I go what I say or do he knows everything. He knows what I'm wearing where i go what I talk about who I'm talking to. Someone told me that he had remote access to my phone and also is using my phone to watch and listen to me. Is this possible. If so what can I do to find out if this is so. Please help me!!!!

Is your phone rooted? If not, I would change your google password, and do a factory data reset. Also, changing your password for any social media accounts or cloud storage accounts may also be a good idea.

I haven't rooted my phone but looking at the system files when I go to feedback it shows Ubuntu and I have a .cloudagent folder in my files now. Just finding all kinds of weird things on it now that I started looking. I've done all thoseb things but still no avail

If you phone is not rooted and you have changed your google password and done a factory reset, then he shouldn't be able to track you with it unless you install something he has access to.

Is it a Samsung phone you've got there? Because I believe that is a Samsung thing. As for Ubuntu, was it plugged into a PC running Ubuntu at any time? Also some China phones can show "Ubuntu" in the kernel string, because that's the OS their firmware was built on.

Try this.

You don't need to buy anything. It will just check to see if you are rooted.
Okay thank you so much. I'll let u know what I find
Buy simple one time phone. NOT IPhone, NOT SmartPhone, Very simple phone without Internet Access.
Stop talking with your friends and relatives about your problems.
Stop everyday posting your posts and photos into social networks.
Call somebody who is in charge and totally reload all software on the all your phones, notebooks and computers, TV, freezers and so on.
Nowdayes the TV can have embedded camera and watch over you.
And with the software TV can send this video to everywhere.
All electronic devices, including devices of close relatives.
Thus you block leakage over phone, notebook and internet.
Call somebody who is in charge and check your home for the hidden cameras, microphones and so on.

Then... give different information about your nearest plans to every your friend and relative including closest ones.
Write these variants on the list and compare, what exactly knows your husband. Thus you block leakage of information via humans.
Are you serious about cameras in all electronic devices?! Not kidding.. are you REALLY

Some smart TVs have cameras and microphones, as do laptops, tablets, and obviously your cell phone. So while what he says is "possible" it is also unlikely. He also said some pretty outlandish things that were removed by us moderators (my post you quoted about leaving the relationship advice out was a response to that).

They sell little doodads like this (https://www.amazon.com/Webcam-Cover...=8-1-spons&keywords=laptop+camera+cover&psc=1) so you can cover the lens when you aren't using it.

Another thing to check is to see if Developer Options have been enabled in Settings About Phone.
One of the first steps to root/ modify newer phones is to enable Developer Options, toggle OEM Unlock and toggle USB Debugging.
To completely remove any modifications that you suspect may be done to your phone, you may be able to flash the stock firmware. How easy that is to do will depend on brand and model number.

I would also review your security settings for your primary Google account. If there is an email address or cell number that you do not recognize, it's probably to notify him of any changes made to your account. If he still pays the bill for the cell service or has his name on the account it's possible he's looking at use logs (and possibly location) through the carrier.

Make sure That you have a separate account and that his name or information does not appear anywhere on it. Then change your password again and enable 2-step verification with your alternate personal email (set up a new one, if you don't have a secondary private email) and cell phone number as the only contacts. This way, even if he does guess the changed password, you will receive a text or email with a verification code that he'd need to access your account.

Finally, keep log of anything that looks suspicious like odd emails or messages from your ex that indicate he knows personal information he shouldn't. Then report it to your local law enforcement. It is, most probably, a violation of stalking laws. Having a knock on the door from a couple of uniformed individuals could certainly shake him up enough to stop the nonsense.

Thanks..
