Lurker
So I was given an Android Huawei Sonic (At&t Fusion Go Phone from Wal-mart). It was dropped by a friend and wouldn't come on at all. It is a brick. Stays black, dead. It was given to me to keep because it is believed that I can fix these things as I've ressurrected my PS3 and Xbox 360 numerous times. I've never did anything with a Cell phone so I've come to the experts at the forum. I digress.

I've tried the hard reset, I've removed the battery. I've tried charging it, but it won't come on at all. I'm buying a special screwdriver set to try to fix it. Any tips as what may be the problem. If I'm asking in the wrong place, please point me in the right direction.

yeah is the phone really worth the time to mess with that much?
sounds like somethings broke of course so i will say good luck to you.

Thanks, but info just came to light that my effort would not be rewarded so screw it. I might tinker with it with a hammer and butcher knife, but other than that it is dead. By the way, awesome Hollow Ichigo pic.

Plug the phone without a battery in it into a computer and see if it turns on. if so you have a bad battery, if the capacitive buttons light up but the screen does not then the connector from motherboard to screen has come loose. if nothing lights up at all then you have something else loose. back cover off and check all ribbon connections. if it was a simple fall that did not break the glass then it's likely a connector.

If your just going to trash the damn thing send it to me, i can fix it and put it to use as a test bed for cooking roms.

Plugging it up to a computer does nothing. Nothing at all lights up. I also hear no sound when pressing the power button, not sure if I should. I was curious if it was a bad battery. I'm glad that eliminates that. I've learned that it wasn't a fall so much as a throw....I know stupid. I'm getting the small screw drivers I need to take off the back from Amazon. I also needed them to mod my extra Xbox controller anyway. The glass doesn't appear to be broken. I'm hoping that once I get it apart it is just a loose connector, because as far as the original owner is concerned it is in the trash, because they've already replaced it with a Blackberry Torch.
