Hi darren, and welcome to AF :)

As the answer will be phone-specific, I'll move this thread to the Ace All Things Root forum. Hopefully the people there will be able to point you to what you need.

My own guesses would be either to reflash the ROM or to extract a copy of the deleted app from a compatible ROM and install that. Do you know what app you deleted (my guess is either framework-res.apk or systemUI.apk)?

Unfortunately I don't know the Ace, so we'll need local help to obtain the files.

Hadron said it all, you either flash the stock samsung firmware through Odin or get the app you deleted from any stock based rom for your model. You will have to push that app back into the system. Its most probably systemui.apk.
Check in system/app if you still have systemui.apk there or not.

A tip for future, don't delete apps whose function you don't know.
