Please help phone keeps saying charging when its not

I have a boost mobile transform ultra and it keeps vibrating and saying saying its charging and its not and it keeps saying charging and not charging when the charger isnt in there and I already cleaned the charger port a little but but when its charging its fine with no problems but after it looses a little battery it starts to act up ......WHAT DO I DO ?????

I'd start by replacing the battery and also using a little rubbing alcohol on the battery contacts in the phone. Also, if that doesn't work, try replacing the charger as well.
