Welcome to the forums, LemmyNjash.

Your device is also known as the "Samsung Galaxy Portal," so I've relocated your thread for you to the Portal community here at AF.

As to your question: Once you log in to Google Play Store with you Google/Gmail account, it should offer you the upgrade at some point. But 1.5 is years old, as an Android OS, so I'm wondering about that. :D

One possibility is to download and install the current Play Store apk files and install, but I am not certain that will work without a root exploit ("rooting" your phone).

Another possibility is to try upgrading your OS past 1.5 to a version that the Portal can handle, then getting a newer version of the Play Store app.

This is an interesting question. Allow me to look into it further and get back to you. Meanwhile others running 1.5 may chime in. :)
