Just got moto droid 2 earlier tonight. Tried to get it to turn on and nothing. Plugged it in, waited for 20 minutes and pushed power button and now the buttons feel like they are working, but the screen won't power on. Left plugged in for about an hour, and the screen is still black. Plugged in my wife's and it shows 80% battery and their is a light next to the usb port that is lit up. Please help, my wife is started to give me crap saying I just wasted our upgrades on crap phones now.

Welcome to the forums!

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Your wife's phone should be fine, it's just in charging mode. If you hold on the power button it should boot up to the regular phone screen. Yours sounds like it may have a problem. I would make sure the battery is attached securely and that the cord is not defective. If that still doesn't work, you may want to take it into Verizon for an exchange. First time I've heard of that happening. The Droid 2s are definitely great phones, you can assure your wife that you made a good choice. I'm sure she'll feel much better knowing that some random dude on the internet said so. :D

Thank you for your help. I thought hers was ok. Mine though wasn't working properly with her battery or her cable plugged in instead of the one that came with mine. I got the phones thru wirefly, will vzw stores help?

If you are within your first 30 days from activation, please contact us so we can exchange your phones for you. The number to call is 866-852-3216. If you are past your first 30 days, please take the phones to the local Verizon store.
