Please please please help!!!

Hello. I am new to this forum and would really appreciate someones help.

I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo and smashed the screen and digitizer. I am sending it off for repair but would really love to retrieve any data on the phone and factory reset it.

When I connect it to my computer its recognised but when I click on the folder there are no files to see. I think this is because the phone needs to be unlocked first and this is where the problems begin :-(

I cant see anything on the screen to do this. Its the same when I try to use Kies and other problems. It needs unlocked first of all.

Is there any way round this at all? I really don't want to send the phone off for repair until I can get into and reset it. Apps like Paddy Power, Ebay and so on are all opened on it and I just don't trust whoever will be fixing it.

The phone doesn't have MHL capability either.

Please help. Thanks

I'm not sure you're going to be able to get your data copied off your phone, but you could try to go to Android Device Manager in a PC and send your device an erase command which is essentially a forced factory reset. I'm not sure, though, how you will confirm it was done with a blank screen.

Hi thanks for the replies folks. Sorry I'm just replying I was out playing football. I'm not sure if I had the usb debugging on. I turned something on before in order to install Kodi

It might be worth a try if your data isn't backed up, but you've got the expense of the adapters, the wait to get them and no guarantee that it will work.

Did you not consider an erase command from ADM?

I tried that mate but I didn't know the sign in details or if I even signed up for that on my phone. I might try the OTG cable in the video does he say he plugs a usb mouse to it? Surely its the keyboard if hes typing in his pin code? Thanks again

How much is it? I ordered an OTG cable on amazon earlier but the seller said he thinks it needs to be connected via blutooth?

But surely the keyboard or mouse will be connected via the usb port on the cable itself ie. one end to phone and the plug in the keyboard/mouse. Don't understand why Bluetooth would be involved?

Thanks a lot for your help with this by the way. Its very much appreciated.

I doubt Bluetooth is involved. OTG is strictly a USB connection.

I really don't know what the costs are, or even if it will work. I've never done any of this and only searching for links.

I'm really just hoping that when I connect a usb keyboard into the otg cable I can then type in the pin, hit return and unlock it. Then connect a regular usb cable to the computer and the phone will be unlocked in kies
