I have just got given a sony x10i but it is on O2 in UK but wanna unlock it to take any network so can put in my virgin or T mobile chips. i have looked at the unlocking bit but seem that you have to get a code. the phone is not rooted or anything, So if i root the phone does it unlock it to all networks ( THIS WILL BE MY 1st PHONE THAT ROOTING !!!! ). I have HTC DESIRE on orange but unlocked but came like that so dont know how to do it i do jailbreak my iPhone when had 1 so if it is like that then hopefully should not be problem doing it after reading how to few times, ALSO seen something about GOLD CARD sd card what does this do??

so how do i unlock the phone to all networks is it like a iPhone once you root the phone then you add a program to unlock it or Flash the phone. I think i have to read the start again about rooting & get to know really what is flash the phone does as well :o
 
I gave my x10 to my old man and after much research couldn't find any way of unlocking it without paying.

He took it to one of those dodgy market blokes and even he said he couldn't do it.

I'm sure there must be a way to do it for free, but you'll have to have a good dig around.

Alternatively you should be able to call O2 and they should be able to do it, but I doubt it'll be cheap!

tks bruv hopefully there is a away i will try O2 maybe cos out of contrct from the person who gave me it he might be able to get the code free ??

:eek: Blue Flag has to stay cos West London is the way lol :D;);)
