I cant seem to find the answer to this question anywhere, I have a 42 inch HD tv and i use antenna to get about 8 channels, Can google tv get me more channels? or would it just be a waste of money?

Google TV will get you access to the web on your tv as long as you have internet in your home. You will have access to netflix, pandora for radio, amazon videos etc. You will not get tv channels. A few things on the web are being blocked by providers as of now. ABC and NBC web sites for example that can normally watch episodes are blocked. You will get "web" channels that some providers offer such as CNBC.

Google TV basically adds web based television via the internet to whatever you already have for television.

Hope this helps.

That's a good overfiw of what Google TV does. IMO it is quite overpriced. You can basically do this all on a Playstation 3, plus get a Bluray player and of course gaming console built in. If they ever start just streaming regular TV over the web, even if at a cost (would have to be much less than paid cable), I would be all in.

Google TV is by no means a cable replacement. I use mine to watch You Tube, surf the web, and watch netflix. It will have much more functionality come next year when they release the market. I am sure the developers will add all kinds of content.
