Podkast lets you find, stream, and download your favorite audio or video podcasts. Whether you have a favorite tech show, listen to NPR, or follow sports talk, chances are you'll be able to find several feeds that keep you informed of your favorite topics.
Podkast can stream an audio or video feed through Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G. On my HTC Evo as well as my HTC Hero, podcasts are smooth and rarely, if ever skip. If you'd rather download episodes to your SD card for later, Podkast allows you to do that as well.
You can mark favorite podcasts and visit the Latest tab to see all the latest episodes of all your favorite shows. I recommend changing the default settings to always open up the Favorites Tab when you open Podkast. That way, all your faves are waiting there for you.
I listen to several podcasts in my car on the way to work, but I usually arrive before the show has ended. So what I do is download the episode WHILE I am streaming it, so I can simply pick up where I left off later. Brilliant!
The user interface is functional, if not pretty. It is easy to get around and figure things out, but it could use a touch of polish visually. But ultimately, that does little to interfere with the quality of this app.
If you have a long commute and don't feel like listening to your radio or iPod, I highly recommend trying out Podkast. Heck, I recommend it to anyone who wants to find all sorts of interesting channels and feeds for your listening or viewing pleasure.
