Help Polaris GA10H tablet wifi wont switch on, help!

Hi all,

I recently bought a cheap 10" tablet of eBad for my young son, last week the wifi stopped working and wont switch back on, if you try to switch it on in settings it says turning on wifi, but does nothing and the switch returns to off.

I read on the net about a similar problem that somebody had, they said they had a virus so I downloaded 360 antivirus and done a scan. The scan found a virus in one of the android files but it could not remove it as I could not give 360 root permissions, so I have since rooted it using Kingo and gave 360 root permissions, the tablet is now clean but the wifi still wont work.

Here is the system info:

Processor = DualCore-A23

Model = GA10H

Android ver = 4.2.2

Firmware ver = v2.0.8

Kernel ver = 3.4.39
android10@Linux2 #302

Build = polaris_eng 4.2.2 JDQ39 20140326 test-keys

Does anyone know if this can be updated straight to 4.4 Kitkat? Does this problem sound like a hardware or software issue?

Also can some annoying apps be deleted, DU speed booster always pops up saying its stopped working, also is there a list of minimum apps needed to operate?

Thanks in advance, please note im new to Android so go easy.

Lee.

The WiFi could be faulty hardware, nothing you can do yourself except return it for replacement or refund. Also as this is a cheap device from an unknown maker, very unlikely it will be updated, unlike say a Samsung or Sony or something.
