Political Affiliations?

Just wondering how everyone arrived at the political affiliations? I am very fascinated with people but being a sociologist doesn't pay anything.

I will go first. I arrived at being a libertarian after growing up in a conservative household. After traveling the world and doing things on behalf of my government that I didn't believe in I decided that we shouldn't be the policeman of the world. But both the Democrats and Republicans strongly believe in this. After some searching I stumbled upon the Libertarian party and became a card carrying member.

I don't have any affiliation to any party.....I've only been eligible to vote in a couple of elections as I'm only 26, I voted lib dems first time, snp next two(not including Scottish parliament and local councillor elections etc)I go for what ever party offers the best options for me and my beliefs etc.....I couldn't picture myself voting Tory, but I wouldn't ever say never to it!

specific affiliation: none

core beliefs: conservatism

point of arrival: got a job (which violates liberal core beliefs)

I grew up under Republican parents, got sucked into the anti-Nixon bonfire, was basically a non-voting Democrat for a few cycles, even voted for Slick Wille’s first election. But then, suddenly and finally, I was drawn back into the light, thanks to Monica Lewinsky and Rush Limbaugh.

Strong conservitive. Why? Well, living around liberals and democrats is why. And, I had the brains to understand why liberals and democrats are death and basic conservitive values is what this country needs.
