Help Pop mail font

aszotten

Lurker
I have a strange fenomena on some of my mails from my pop server. The mail is displayed as chinese signs in stead of the regular font. I can not determine what mails get a chinese font in stead of the normal text font.
(I tried searching the forum for any similar entries without luck)
Can anyone help?

It is most likely that someone is using a double-byte font that the phone doesn't have installed, or doesn't support. Double byte fonts frequently appear as chinese characters or boxes when not supported.

Can HTML e-mail be disabled? If so, it should receive as plain text and avoid the whole double-byte font issue.

I doubt that that is the case. These mails are sent from a web based imap account, but anyway is there a way to install such a font on the Magic to see if this is a solution? and no I can't find a way to disable HTML mails.

Hmm. That's an interesting one then. I do not believe there's a way of installing fonts but I am still new to the G1 so I may be wrong.

Have you tried getting ahold of Android support at TMO?
