Pop up ads

Nomekop

Lurker
For the last few days, I've been getting random full screen ads on my phone.

They're just like normal game ads, but I'm not using a game, or one that does that. It'll happen as I'm browsing YouTube or Google, too, even if that's the only app open.

But if I go down to the recent apps button when one pops up, I think whatever causes them picks a random app from my phone and says that caused it.

None of the apps it mentions have ever caused any issues before the last few days. They're all stuff like calculator, or chrome.

When I do that though, it dissapears after half a second then goes to my home screen, closing the app on the way.

Is there a way to stop this, or figure out what's causing it at least?

Here are some examples:

Hi ,
Ads are triggered by usually Non system Apps Installed,
To check this,
Keep running the Device in safe mode and check for the issues,
To activate safe mode ,

If your device is on,

Press and hold your device's power button.

On your screen, touch and hold Power off . If needed, tap OK.

Your device starts in safe mode. You'll see "Safe mode" at the bottom of your screen.

If your device is off

Press your device's power button.

When the animation starts, press and hold your device's volume down button. Keep holding it until the animation ends and your device starts in safe mode.

You'll see "Safe mode" at the bottom of your screen.
OR,
Restart device,
Wait until Android Logo animation start,
At this time Press along with Volume down button and Power button,
Phone restart with Safe mode notification / Logo at bottom left.

I did this with all recent apps shortly after the problem started, but not in safe mode. Safe mode seems to work, but I haven't had enough time to make sure completely.

I did it again and turned off safe mode about 5 minutes ago, and I haven't seen any yet. I'll keep you updated when I get home.

Edit: this worked, thank you!
