Help Pop ups on chrome

I have a problem with my galaxy s7. Whenever I'm on Facebook and click on an article, or on chrome, I get pop ups that claim my phone is infected and have like 4 pop up windows. I don't click on any of these but how do I make them stop? It's quite annoying. I don't visit any malicious websites so I'm not sure where they are coming from. I just fear one of these days I'm going to end up accidently clicking on those pop ups and have something happen to my phone. Any advice? Should i take it in to my carrier (Verizon)? I would screenshot these pop ups but don't want to risk clicking on them.

Try clearing your browser cache.

You are right not to click on them, nothing good would follow. You've picked them up from some website or other - web advertising is a total mess and many sites have no idea what their advertising services is doing. Malicious garbage like this is one reason I make no apology for ad blocking.

I clear my browsing data everyday and it still comes up. If I took it to Verizon would they be able to clear it up? I don't trust anti virus apps in Google play store

Just factory-reset the phone, that's the first thing the tech on verizon will do to your phone anyway and most of the time that will do the job unless the cause of the ads is a system app. If you did decide to factory-reset your phone don't forget to backup your stuffs.

Oh man[emoji50][emoji32] yeah ill wait to back everything up before I do that. I've got tons of pics of my son i wouldn't want to lose.

While you back things up you should try some alternative browser and fb app and see if the problem persist there. I recommend Adblock Browser for Android by Eyeo GmbH and Tinfoil for Facebook by Daniel Velazco.
