Portable hotspots is not working

The ability to use your phone as a hotspot can be restricted by your carrier. Are you sure that's part of your data plan?
 
Okay, then we'll need a little more detail. Is it you cannot enable the hotspot feature on your phone or you can't connect to it once it's enabled?
 
What version of Android is on your phone? When I tried to enable the hotspot on my phone (Android 7.0.1) i get a prompt like this.

Is the option greyed out? or when you turn it on it simply doesn't work? If you get any error messages, that would be helpful.
 
There are a lot of vague references to error 19 with HTC phones, but the generally consensus to fix it seems to be reflashing the firmware.
 
The only way you can enjoy the holly fruits of your hotspot is by unlocking it..unfortunately it comes with a price tag..meaning isn't free..i was able to unlock mine with Idoneapps..you can choose any other one if you prefer..just giving you the idea..but it's worth while and the good thing..it unlocks the cap too
 
I'm having a similar problem with the netshare app but it won't allow me to connect to my hotspot with my LG Stylo 4 or my K8s because of the built in vpn. Anyone have any idea how to resolve this issue?
