Porting Android-x86 to Nextbook Ares 8

Yeah so I'm reading about porting Android-x86 to a new device on the website. And it only mentions about how to compile to a .iso to install on a laptop/desktop. But I need to be able to flash it by a custom recovery. I'm trying to port to an android tablet that has an
Intel Atom Processor Z3735G 1.83Ghz quadcore processor.

The article is here:

Why? It's already running Android.
So that I can run marshmallow when it releases on android x86.
One thing I'm considering doing is installing Android-x86 on a virtual machine on my computer, then imaging all partitions except /boot and /recovery. Then I'll flash them to my device! That should work!

NOTE: My device is unlocked and I am not changing the kernel. I am only changing the Android System on my device.
