Apps Porting J2me chess to android

I am trying to port a j2me chess application to android. The j2me app uses different layers (Tilelayer) and a Game canvas for drawing everything. I am trying to figure out how to port this to android. Please suggest me what will be the best way to port the app in android. What are the different classes that i need to look in android.

Hi I am new to Android and i want to port my existing J2me application to android , so if any one can help or has done porting can suggest me some links or can guide me please.
