Possible Gboard instead of Fossify

I installed the Fossify version because I obviously don't want goo. However, it seems to behave more the way gboard would. When I check it claims Fossify. How do I make sure?

I had it a few times, it was simply amazing, over all though but the bg data kept eating my storage though.

Installing a new keyboard wont automatically switch your phone to that new keyboard app, you also need to enable it in your phones settings.
Settings - System - Keyboard - On Screen Keyboard - Manage On Screen Keyboard.
Or Settings - System - Languages & Input - On Screen Keyboard - Manage On Screen Keyboard.
Or a similar location.

After that you can open the new keyboard app and it should prompt an option to switch to that keyboard.
