Possible successor to the MXP?

Yeah, that is really old (from last summer I think) and never panned out... There was no Moto X for 2016, the 2017 model is the Moto X4.

Honestly, there is no Moto device that really replaces the X Pure with similar features, you really need to move to another device or "downgrade" to a Moto G5 Plus or G5S Plus, which although a downgrade on paper I found to be a great upgrade other than the front facing speakers... Pretty nice to get 6+ hours of screen time on a single charge or 2 days of moderate use.

Very true, but only in North America... In other parts of the world it has NFC but no compass, which I still think is an odd trade-off.

I used it once on my MXPE just to see how it works, otherwise thought it was just a gimmick. Haven't missed it in the 3 months I have had my G5+
 
Hey, that's hopeful!
I don't understand why they reduced the MP camera from 21 to 12, or why they didn't upgrade the battery form the 3000mAh found in both the MXP and the G5.
I don't know how those factors will affect picture quality or battery life. Do you have any observations on those?
