Hello, my elderly mother received an old Next3 tablet from a friend.
I am wondering if it is possible to update it for web browsing. She doesn't need that much. Gmail, lottery scores, Youtube and general browsing.
Currently I am getting constant browsing errors that say something along the lines of the certificate doesn't match the website - it's old and not browsable. The rest of the tablet (books etc) appears at first glance to work correctly.
Under settings I see no update options. Here are the specs:
Android 2.1
kernel version 2.6.25
build number 1.3.23.ECLAIR.eng.root.20101208.141547
As to my level of tech ability, I have barely a passing familiarity with Android. I'm a Mac person with pretty good technical ability although I am not a programmer or anything. I am running OSX 10.8.5 on a Macbook Pro if that matters here.
If it's possible to upgrade and someone could guide me through step by step I'd be most grateful. Thank you
