Possibly shady Metro rep...?

I bought a Motion yesterday, and specifically told her I wanted the insurance. I asked what the deductible was, she even asked her manager because she didn't know), and she handed me a brochure that talked about the insurance.

Today when I brought my Optimus M in for an unrelated issue, something in my gut told me to ask and double check on the insurance for my Motion, to see if it had been added. Sure eenough, NOPE! The girl had NOT added the insurance.

I don't know if was intentional on her end or not, but after I'd asked all the questions...how could she have forgotten? Luckily it was the store manager I dealt with this time, but...

Can you imagine if I'd not checked and something happened a few months later? I'd have gone in there thinking I was covered and BAM! What credibility would I have had, insisting that I'd gotten the insurance way back when? They'd probably think I was trying to scam them.

Things like this scare me and *ss me off.

Well if it was a new activation the bill of sale would've had your monthly bill paid for and you can see if it all adds up.

But yea you really have to be sure they put it in, can always ask how much will you be paying for the next month if its an upgrade. Since its going to be that $10 difference on your bill.

Lol they made a change to our dealer systems, this past Sunday, which prompts the dealer everytime if the customer wants to add metroGUARD to there new device.

I havent seen that yet, wonder why Im not getting asked it. Probably just an oversight...Ive forgot steps in activating phones...like paying the first months bill...

I think they actually removed the prompt for metroGUARD since some dealers complained.

I just did a sale and it didn't prompt me.

One time when I went to upgrade my phone, I bought the metro guard. I had the receipt showing I paid $5 extra for the remaining 3 days on my monthly bill. When it was time to pay my bill I was being charged ten dollars for metro guard. Called up customer service did the whole dance to speak with a fluent English speaking person only to have them tell me they are not responsible for the way authorized dealers charge. I pretty much paid $10 for 3 days of insurance. They didn't care of I had a receipt.

I had same same, but different. Happens too often with this carrier.

One rep tried flashing me her breasts to distract me from how stupid she was.

your complaining?

And Authorized dealers just change contracts and add features in the system. It tells us what to charge that day. If its an upgrade and you still have days in your current 30 days, then most times its 0 that day and so much when you pay your next payment. If you added Metroguard it would add it for the remaining days(not prorated) and the next months 30 days.

Metro prorates if you change your plan but if its a service like metroGUARD or metroBACKUP they fully charge you for it the next payment. $10 for metroGUARD and $2 for metroBACKUP, then they go back down to there normal service price.

this happened to me when i got my esteem. payed for it and i have the receipt stating that i payed for it but it never got added. so i called metro a few months after the fact and they told me that i never had it and i could add it but it would switch me to the new plans and no more unlimited data. o well i guess. just have to be extra careful from now on.

One of the Metro stores tried to sell me 'generic' LG Esteem Extended battery and case for $40+ and told me that they were 'Genuine' Metro PCS ones.

Lucky, I already know how genunie looked like (they have Metro logo and hunch-back shape) and how much generic ones go for ($10 on ebay).

I am not saying all Metro dealers are greedy or cheating. I have couple friends who own authorized Metro store and give me good deal on phones and accessories stuff... but if you are dealing with random dealers check some items before making purchases. They got a make profit somewhere somehow..
