Hello all,
This past weekend my AT&T Galaxy S3 died. I plugged it into charge Sunday night, woke up Monday morning to find it dead and that it would not load past the Samsung Galaxy S3 loading screen.
I have tried booting in safe mode and recovery mode. Safe mode has not worked at all and I have gotten into recovery mode a few times, but the phone quickly restarts after entering it. One time I was quick enough to wipe the cache partition, but that does not seem to have fixed the problems. (Don't know if it's important to mention, but after trying to boot it a few times regularly and before attempting to boot in safe mode and recovery mode, the phone actually made it through startup and then restarted after a minute or so.)
I've had this phone for a couple of years or so and have photos/videos/etc. that I'd like to retrieve. Since it won't startup, it seems like there's not much that I can do.
I have one last idea to save the data, but I am not sure if it will work or not. I have a friend who has a (functioning) AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 as well. Would it be possible to swap the motherboards of each phone and retrieve the data from my phone's internal memory that way? I would like to know if this is even in the realm of possibility before I spend a Saturday trying to do this
Please let me know if more information is needed.
Thanks in advance!
