Power cord

Like an idiot, I've broken the power cord that comes with the Chromecast. It appears just to be a micro-USB connection...but when I try other power cords I get nothing. Has anyone else used a power cord other than the one that came with Chromecast? Thanks!

P.S. - Has anyone tried plugging it into a receiver rather than directly into a TV? Just wondering if anyone has had any problems with that...

Scratch the P.S., I just saw the post below about plugging into a receiver. Now, does anyone have any experience in using a different USB power cable?

I have used a non-CHROMECAST power cord since day one, haven't had any issues,plugged directly into the TV set.
