power on phone when charging

Hi,

is there an app or something that can be configured (how?) to power on an android mobile (HTC Desire, v 2.3.3) - if its switched off, and then becomes plugged in to a charging device.

i.e. if the battery drains, it will go off - so if charging is resumed it will auto power back on to its original state.

No because when the phone is off nothing is running, it's really off. When it's charging it's still off until it's manually turned on. No app will be able to do anything until the phone is fully on.
