Help PowerAmp music resume / Volume issues

I have a question pertaining to PowerAmp and the music resume feature after phone calls end. See, I have had 3 smartphones before the GS3 (the GS3 being so far my favorite obv) and they all worked seemlessly with PowerAmp's music resume feature after a phone call would end. With the GS3 though, it seems that there is an extra screen, if you will, after the phone call ends that gives you the option to text or call the contact again which actually makes the music NOT start again. In fact, it causes all my volume settings to mess up. Interestingly, the music starts up for about half a second before the aforementioned screen shows up and then it stops completely (at which point all my volume settings get set to silent). Irritatingly, the PowerAmp player is indeed playing, but no sound is produced. In other words, the music player shows music progression (I can see the seconds slider moving...) but no sound comes out. Also, my phone gets set to SILENT for some reason. I have my keyboard set to click on touch but it doesn't produce sound after I receive a phone call and the above happens...

TL;DR after I get a call PowerAmp stops playing music even though I have the "resume music after call" feature checked. Also, my volume is set to silent. :(

Is anyone else having this issue? Any solushuns?

I had poweramp installed for a hot minute but it completely messed up my volume settings on the s3.

It changes the system volume, leading the OS to think that poweramp IS actually the telephone. That's why the stock player gives a 'can not play music while using the telephone' message while poweramp is installed. It has to do with the 'system volume' option that you find in the settings of the app.

For now I think all you can do is wait for a poweramp update to fix these problems.

Wait but I HAVE been able to play music from the stock player with PowerAmp installed. In fact, I have succesfully been able to play music with the stock PowerAmp WHILE PowerAmp is playing music - PowerAmp pauses and lets the stock player play. When I stop the stock player though, PowerAmp doesn't resume (not surprisngly...)

Glad to know I'm not the only one though...
I love PowerAmp and this issue is a minor one to me, although some people would find it serious. I guess I'll email the dev.

Loved PowerAmp but with this issue and my BT headset controls, I ditched it for DoubleTwist and have never looked back!

I can't completely confirm this but I think this problem has been solved for me.

I was having some issues with my music files being copied over to my sd card. I noticed my card was formatted as exFat. I ended up reformatting my card into fat32 and the issue of music not resuming after a call was no longer happening.

If you're facing this problem, you might want to check how your sd card is formatted

I'll keep testing this out

I'm not going to for my my sd card with ~20gb of music/pics/videos on it.

In any case I'm very interested to see how your test goes. Keep us posted please!

Edit: a mod at the power amp forums has found this bug and apparently they are now working on a fix/upgrade. Awesome! I love power amp...
