Poynt now on Android!

Just installed on my Incredible, and it works well. I like the interface even better than what I was familiar with on my old BB Storm.

It does seem to be a bit sluggish though. However I'm happy to see it, and am speculating that there will be rapid subsequent versions that improve its efficiency.

I did like Poynt on my Blackberry years ago, but I think Google Maps is one or two updates away from making all of these apps obsolete.

Just installed, looks good except I don't see an option to "close" the app. I know if I didn't close it on my 9700 it would be constantly searching/updating location and was a huge battery user.

Uninstalled for now, but will watch for comments on requirement to close. Perhaps it's different on the android platform.

what is the app where if youre standing on the street and use your camera it will show what shop or restaraunt serves what? i saw it on tv but forget what app it is.

Wow I just got an email from mypoynt stating they have just added their awesome blackberry app to android. I loved this app as it gave me nearby restaurants, gas prices, movie times (by theater or by movies nearby, white/yellow pages all in one! For those who don't know just go and download it from the market and see.

It is different on Android. No need to "close" apps.

The OS handles all of that stuff.

The application works great on my EVO! I used to use this on my Blackberry....I'm glad to see they have made this for Android.
