Hello everyone
Please accept my apologies if my question is answered elsewhere, howerver I am unable to trigger the correct words in the search which would have given me this answer.
Most of us are in the position where downloading data in known places (such as home or work) is not much of an issue as there might be (open or free) WiFi available.
Within your own country or carrier region even 3G is not that much of an issue as (I guess) most of you have some sort of contract so we get some traffic included in the monthly price.
Now, if I go abroad every single kilobyte can cost a lot of money. For GPS (triangulate my position and stuff) or very small amount of updates/syncing I can handle that.
However, if I am in need of information such as google maps or what is the nearest hotel I am pretty much out of luck without (open or free) WiFi.
To the question:
Is there a possibility to download data for an app and store it on the SD which would otherwise be downloaded by 3G or WiFi?
Eg.: I know I am visiting Sweden in a certain area so I would love to have a certain area of Google Maps and some hotel/restaurant/random information available and stored on the phone and able to use them with none to minimal use of internet traffic.
Thanks a lot for your answers
Regards
scheuri
