I am using an HTC desire 610 with the standard messaging app and the HTC Sense input keyboard.
Somehow I have saved some words to the Swype/predictive text dictionary that are causing a problem.
However, the problem words, including "abd" for "and", are not in my personal dictionary! Also, I knew I have added commonly used specialty words via the Swype/messages app that also do not appear in my personal dictionary, but still appear when I type.
I have searched the internet for solutions but they all say to clear out your personal dictionary. However, the problem words, including "abd" for "and", are not in my personal dictionary! Also, I knew I have added commonly used specialty words via the Swype/messages app that also do not appear in my personal dictionary, but still appear now as suggestions when I send messages. I cleared the dictionary out anyway.
I reset the keyboard app to factory defaults.
I found one suggestion to tell my browser not to remember my form info, so I changed that setting and deleted all form data and cache from the internet browser.
However, it is still giving me undesired words like abd, as well as personalised words like enfj, tyria, and my kids' names.... Even after they were removed from the personal dictionary.personal
Fwiw, said dictionary is available by holding the gear button on the keyboard, or via settings->language and keyboard->HTC sense input->user dictionary.
Swype does not appear as an app in my app list. Messages app does not have the option to view a dictionary. HTC sense input only has the user dictionary with the couple words I re-entered since resetting it.
The words I want to access and delete were added by typing in manually, choosing the word in the predictive text bar, and then (getting a pop up that says tap to add to dictionary) tapping the pop up. There are many dozens of words I have added this way, but only about one dozen appeared in my personal dictionary.
Can anyone help?!
