Help Predictive Text

Hi I have just purchased an NGM Forward Endurance phone and I'm really pleased with it, except for the very poor user handbook...
I'm trying to find out how to turn off predictive text but despite looking through virtually every 'Settings' list or contextual menu, I just cannot find any reference to predictive text. There is no mention of it in the User handbook.... The device has Android Version 4.4.2 (Kit Kat)

I wonder if any other NGM user has found the location of the Predictive Text setting ???

It's very likely in the keyboard options, which you should find under Settings > language & input > keyboards or input methods. You could always install a third-party keyboard app though, if the stock keyboard won't let you turn it off.

Thanks mikedt for your reply, but I've been through all these options and there is definitely no option to disable the predictive text... The phone is actually my fiancee's - my Galaxy J5 has the option just where you suggest (it's running Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop). I wonder if it's a function of Android - rather than the NGM phone?
You mentioned a third-part app. - I've had a look on Play Store and there are hundreds of typical apps. I wonder if you could recommend one ??
Kind Regards

Top Two in my book are SwiftKey and TouchPal
