Preemptive Google Voice number blocking?

Clementine_3

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My sister has a situation and has to block calls on her home, cell and GV. I've updated Verizon and she is taking care of her landline.

The people she is blocking have her GV number but have only used it once from one of their numbers, I've set that up as spam so it will be blocked.

What I need to do is get their known numbers blocked on GV as well but don't see a way to do that ahead of time. The closest fix I see is to add the numbers to a group in Gmail contacts and set them for system greeting, at least it wouldn't be her voice greeting but it doesn't indicate the line is not active like spam or blocking does.

Am I missing a setting or way to do this? Anyone know a better work-around specifically for GV??

edit: Verizonwireless blocking says something to the effect of the caller's number has been blocked, not that the number is no longer active.

I just read that Verizon fios can't block cell phone numbers anyway so that isn't going to help her.

At least GV says the number is no longer active but you can't seem to get there from here as far as pre-blocking.

She may just be screwed and have to change all her numbers. What a friggin' nightmare joke. ugh.

Thanks.

She ended up just changing all her numbers; cell, home and GV. I forgot to come back and update the thread :)

Obviously that was a last resort solution but, probably, the best thing for her to do. There were too many hoops to jump through and no true fix for all her numbers.

The other alternative was to add them to a group in her contacts and turn off forwarding for that group in the settings for the GV account.
