Prepper food...

As a kid, I had WWII vintage powdered eggs on many a camp out. Also had lemonade from powder and hard candies from the same era. Seemed plenty good at the time and had to be over a couple of decades old. I'm guessing the art of preparing long shelf storage foods has come a long ways since the mid forties. I haven't tried any so I can't speak first hand.
 
That I can't say. It's like a hobby in itself for him. He's has been storing stuff for nearly a decade. I'll have to ask him if he's cracked anything open. Surely he's been into some of his early stuff by now... if for no other reason than to see if he's putting up a good product.

If you are thinking of storing long term for some SHTF scenario, I know there are some great sites on the net for info.
I've never visited the site but years ago he mentioned a forum... Frugal Squirrel. I don't know now if he was recommending it or condemning it lol... sorry. The name stuck with me.
 
If my cupboard catches fire, there are other things to worry about, such as GTFO...

of course, I'd be sure too grab my laptop, and perhaps my NAS.
 
You forgot to bring money. I'm sure the Red Cross would take care of you and yours.

Regardless BOT: I still don't believe it. dinner preserved for 25 years without power? Just add water!
