Hi All,
Ryan here - new to the forum but not to Android.
I had an HTC Inspire 4g which would get me about 17 Hrs. of battery life on average which I thought was pretty good (Gmail/Data Sync On, Notifications for Facebook and ESPN set up but no "refresh" time and Weather App would pull info based on my location)
Well, I have had my Gs3 for a little over a week now, and while it is a great phone (Screen, Speed, Ease of adjustability, etc.) The Battery was depleting about 10% per hour
Typical usage: Unplug the phoen around 8:20AM, listen to music via doubletwist on my 30 min. commute, reply to about 15-20 texts, read on the kindle app, fantasy football app updates, and some emails and by 3PM the battery was down to 15% and asking to be plugged in.
I went to ATT and the manager who I have dealt with for years suggested I download Task Manager (ATK) and I noticed a SIGNIFICANT increase in battery life - now with the same amount of usage I had around 80% of battery by 12 noon and around 10/1030 before I go to bed would have around 30-40% depending on usage.
I then decided to take my experiments a step further and went ahead and installed "Easy Battery Saver" and tweaked the settings to my liking.
Also, its worth mentioning I have the Task Manager set to "Autokill" and have tailored that list to my liking and don't have it closing out Apps like Messaging, GMail, Jays headphone control, and doubletwist.
My battery now lasts about 27 hrs with moderate use and can easily get me through my day.
Either way, thanks for reading! Hope my findings help out some forum members!
