Prevent screen lock app which 'sleeps' the screen

I've just an app called 'KeepScreen' to prevent the screen lock from appearing when playing back music via the music player, the screen brightness does dim, however I'm concerend about battery life. I would prefer it if the screen did sleep (blank screen) and that I would have to press the menu button or power button to wake to change track but not have to unlock.

Anyone recommend a related app?
