Prevent upgrade to Lollipop?

Firemouth

Lurker
I understand there is an update to Lollipop coming for the G2, I don't remember if the phone update automatically or if you can prevent it to happen.
I do not want Lollipop, I do not like the look of it, I am quite happy with kit kat, is there a way to prevent my phone to update to Lollipop when the Lollipop upgrade is rolled out?

I have rooted my phone, and out of curiosity I clicked on software update, I knew I could untick the "check automatically" option once upon a time, but somehow that vanished and the only thing it was doing when clicking on software update was to check for new updates. Maybe the fact that I rooted the phone put that option back?
Am I right to think that, now no new software aka Lollipop will download on my phone unless I ask manually to check for software updates?

I have downloaded titanium backup pro, but the only things I can find to freeze is software update 2.3.1.15 or update center 4.1.150. Is software update 2.3.1.15 the same as software update MUC?
Will it prevent the apps to update too?

Sorry, I'm still on Jelly Bean. Freezing Software update MUC didn't stop app updates. Hopefully someone on KitKat will show up and set you on the right path.

I am on kit kat 4.4.2. And I suppose I still can update the apps manually, via the play store, if need be?

Does that mean that, if later on I change my mind and want to update to Lollipop, I will have to unroot the phone again?
I probably won't change my mind though, but it's something useful to know.
