Previously installed apps?

When I first got my phone the VZ store person installed a couple things (she said I'd want them) and I later uninstalled them on the advice of this board. There was a file manager and a task killer. I don't recall the authors of these apps, but now hear about a security risk from certain apps of this type. How would I know if they compromised my security? Is there such a thing as a malware scan for an android phone? I have an HTC Incredible.

Dont worry, if they were uninstalled then they are gone off your phone. And no, there are no viruses for android. There were a few apps just taken down off the market due to them sending texts in the background. But they were all japanese and had weird names and descriptions./

What I read was the malware was Chinese and that it sent contacts and then set up a bot net.

In any case, the biggest risk is losing your phone.

Hi, i would like to know the same. Is there a way to see complete history of all apps installed on my device, even those that I removed?

Always read the reviews and look at the ratings as if people have had any issues with the applications then it will be posted on the reviews.

Chances are you will be fine though as Google removes all applications that compromises your phone.

Google just removed 21 apps from the market for being malicious.
I think it's time you guys stopped saying there are no such problems on android.

Lookout mobile security detected the spider man app as a trojan.

I don't read japanese.
They weren't just sending text, they were sending text, gathering data, downloading other software, and trying to gain root access.

Using a browser go to the Market and click on My Market Account - it lists everything currently installed from the Market.
Nothing from 3rd party sites, though.

No, not what was removed.

And all of them were chinese apps that were listed under weird names, such as porn apps. Just stay away from porn apps, make sure you read what things they require from the system before you install them.

Did you read the names of the apps in the list?
