Price to be a Verzion Customer

So I found a Razr Maxx on Amazon for $99.00 for new customers. I thought I would qualify because I don't have any wireless phone service with them with the exception of a USB Data Card.

I thought I could set up a new individual account for the wireless phone and still get the $99 price. NOPE, since I am a customer already in some for or fashion, the phone discounts are lost and the prices increases to $229 a $120 jump in price just for being an existing customer, and to add salt to the wound, a $35 activation fee to boot. What even kills me is that the local Verzion stores sell the Maxx for $299. WTF!! are you kidding me??

The only place I found the Maxx at a lower cost is at Wirefly.com where its $169 for an existing customer. Still $70 more than I wanted to pay. I guess I will be keeping my beloved Sprint EVO for a little while longer, and I was so looking forward to a newer phone...

i believe you have to start a line of service through amazon for verizon, and thats how you get the deal, however i have ran into problems with amazon mobile and replacing a defective handset before. I would call amazon about it and see what they offer and or recommend.

You already used your discount.

The fact that you can get good phones for cheap on each carrier from Amazon, it's made me almost think about jumping carriers every 2 years to save ~$100 each year.
