Why does Android have problems simply seeing my HP D110A wireless printer and using it? Windows 8.1 and my iPad2 work fine with no setup required whatsoever. I was about to buy the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 32GB tablet today until I was informed printing was such a hassle. Sure enough, a friend hooked her 10.1 to my WiFi and it doesn't see my printer. I absolutely refuse to spend $599 and monkey around with apps to make it work, or discover it won't and be stuck with a useless tablet. I really love the tablet, but find this issue disturbing. It's putting me off getting my first Android device which is a shame. Am I missing something about Android that would explain why it doesn't see my printer? Or is this simply an issue with Android in general?
UPDATE: After reading and checking with HP and some Android users, I've discovered the issue is inherent to Android itself. While the HP ePrint app MIGHT work, it does not work for all Android apps that have print capability - it can be hit and miss. Bizarre to say the least. I use my devices for writing and need print capability. I will not be buying Samsung's great looking tablet. I was hoping to avoid going with a Windows 8.1 tablet. Oh well!
