Privac y Guard: Tasker will not be able to access the personal data

Hi All,

I'm receiving an notificationfrom Android System that the Priv acy Guard is Active and Tasker will not be able to access the personal data.

Why do I receive such notification? Does it block some Tasker's actions? Is this normal? Should I change any Tasker or System settings?

Thank you!

You apparently installed a third party app called "PrivacyGuard". I do not have such an app installed. What are you using it for? How do you control it?

Yeah, that word seems to get moderated for some reason. I had to fix the OP's title and post by putting a space in that word :)

Edit: hmm, seems to show up fine when I quoted you though :dunno:

Hm... I don't know what's the app is.... How can I know what's the app, which might be dangerous...
I installed some APK in te past, but I don't remember what they are...
But the Android System Pri vacy Guard issues the message for Tasker... Why?

Hm, the Priv acy Gu ard don't appear in the list of the installed apps on my phone... Is there a way to find and uninstall its package?

My guess would be that app, perhaps a system app (?), it not allowing tasker to access it. If so, I would surmise that is normal and the app is doing what it is intended....not letting any other apps gain access? I'm guessing here so :o

What device do you have and what carrier? Check in your application manager to see if it is listed and if there is an option to remove, or disable.

I removed the space between the two words to stop it from hiding the words.

To find the app … in Android go to Settings/Apps & notifications/App info and scan for something that looks like the name.

OK, I've found this P_r_i_v_a_c_y_G_u_a_r_d ...

go to Settings -> Personal section -> Privacy -> it's here!

will try to allow all I need!

This is LineageOSv14.1 (custom ROM) - similar to Android v7.1.2.
Yes you should go Settings -> Personal (section) -> Privacy -> here you will find it

It is apparently specific to your third-party ROM.

I use standard ROM through Motorola and standard Android from Motorola
7.0 - there is no privacy in the personal section
8.0.0 - there is no personal section

"It is apparently specific to your third-party ROM" - you are right, it seems it's a part of the custom ROM

My phone is Galaxy S5, there is no official Android 7.1 releases for this phone. But the LineageOS v14.1 (custom Android 7.1.2 release) runs on it very smoothly, there are no complains ...

As you've installed a custom ROM, you might get more relevant info reaching out to its developers or their help forum for something like this.

sure, I just was not aware that 'Privacy_Guard' is a part of the custom ROM... I thought it was an app, which was installed to my phone silencely...
