[privacy] A calendar app which will never sync at all?

HippoMan

I'm looking for an Android calendar app which does not sync to anywhere.

I don't want it to sync to Google, nor to any other service on the internet. I want it to only work locally on my device with no capabilities, whatsoever, to connect to anything over the net.

I haven't been able to find such an app so far.

Can anyone suggest anything?

Thank you very much in advance.

Color Note has a calendar that doesn't sync.
Sorry for the very late response. Thank you very much! Color Note is the best option for me.

Whenever I load a new OS on my device (I do that a lot), Google stuff, including Calendar, gets automatically sync'ed immediately, before I can go to Settings and turn that sync'ing off. Therefore, I never, ever want to use Google Calendar for anything.

Thanks to both of you.

I do the same but as there is nothing on the device at this point to sync it matters not. Just turn off sync before you load any calendar details.

Yes, but then, if I ever use Google Calendar and sync ever gets turned on (it sometimes does when I don't intend to), all my calendar stuff is now in the cloud.

Better not to use Google Calendar at all, so there is never anything to sync, in the first place. :)

Color note works great, by the way.

Color note doesn't have on line calendar, but it does do some syncing for backup purposes. I used that feature to transfer my notes from old phone to new phone. That MIGHT put your calendar data in the cloud and defeat the purpose IF privacy is your purpose (not sure)

I'm sorry for the late reply. Thank you very much to electricpete and Fakharuddin Manik.
Yes, privacy is my goal.
I'm trying CalenGoo now.

Follow-up: it seems that CalenGoo will not let me set up calendar entries with notifications unless I connect it to at least one calendar account, such as Google Calendar. So unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be able to serve my purpose.

But thank you again!

If you don't mind learning a powerful Organizer/Calendar app, I'd highly recommend Pimical for Android. It takes a while to get used to, but once you learn your way around it, it can do just about anything you can imagine, including handling your contacts, to do's and memos.

If privacy is a concern, I don't know of anything better. It can definitely be used outside of Google and the cloud. I know you said you do not want to sync anywhere, but the same developer offers a PC app that can be directly synchronized to your phone or tablet by cable our Wi-Fi (never using the cloud, internet or Google).

I've been using it for years, and once again, highly recommend it.

Thank you, glassmancheck!

I'll check out Pimical. Complexity doesn't bother me, as long as it serves my purposes.

I'm a little busy these days, but I'll come back here and report my Pimical findings within a few days.
