PRL issue?

I have the Samsung Galaxy S3. My home area is Miami, FL but I went on a trip to Bloomington IL. As soon as I turned on my phone, no service. I called metro (skype) and they said I had to update my prl before leaving my home area (wtf?) I went to LA over the summer and had no problems (on an LG Esteem) So, what can I do to fix my phone, without having to teleport home?
 
Doesnt the S3 come with a different PRL than all the other phones but the 1 on the S3 is the latest for that phone
