My phone got an update notification for the OS. I went ahead and updated like I've done many times in the past and when it was done, it said something like "service provider update. your device will restart to configure features supported by the new sim card". Made me very nervous because this is the same message I got when I tried out a Verizon sim card, and it never would get past the "please wait" screen. So I replaced my at&t sim and all was fine until tonight. But I'm getting the same thing this time-it just says "please wait" and nothing happens. I tried rebooting, tried removing and reinstalling the sim card, and nothing helps. My phone is getting pretty warm through all this too. Any ideas what can fix this? My phone is not rooted.
eta: I think I got it. First I took the sim card out for a few minutes and tried again. Same thing. So then I pressed the volume up/power/home at the same time, trying to get it into recovery so I could try wiping the data cache. It restarted but then it said "installing update" and then there was an android guy with a yellow triangle and exclamation point over his head and it said "no command". So I held the three buttons again and it rebooted. When it came back on it seemed to be working fine but I still would like to know what the problem was and how to prevent it next time.
