Hi.

Just purchase a brand new BLU Studio XL 2 Android version 6.0. Not rooted.
After startup screen completed: Note: did not add google acct on startup.
Install SD card. Played Google Play Music. Worked!
Connected to WIFI then tried to add a Google Account and launch Google Play Store.

Received Message:

Couldn’t sign in.
There was a problem communicating with Google servers
Try again later.

Tried:
Cleared the Cache & Data from Google Play, Account Mgr, Play Services.
Did a Force Stop on Google Play, Account Mgr. No change. Did a Force Stop on Google Play, Account Mgr. No change. BTW. Google Play Service grays out Force Stop and Disable button.
Tried Factory Reset same error message.
I have an existing Google Account I use for my laptop.
This is a brand new phone. Is there something on the BLU Studio that has to be reset?

Any suggestions.
TC.

Check the phone's date and time are correct, if those are wrong it won't connect to Google, or anything else that requires a SSL encrypted Internet connection.

@mikedt I did check date/time no problem there.

An old post (2014) I found on the net stated to download "PrebuiltGenCore.apk" to your phone and this should fix this problem.
Are you familiar with this APK.

Ok.

I got it to work. Went to StarBucks again (my wifi has been down for week).
Login to SB wifi, went to Google Play Store received same error message stated originally.
Launched Chrome. Screen display “Your connection is not private return back to safety” Previously, I exited out of Chrome.

Today, I just continued to the next screen in Chrome.
Google search engine displayed normally. Launch google play store without error message.

Not sure if this was the right path to go or I just go lucky.
