Help Problem - downloading icon is continuously showing in notification area

GOT A Problem On My Micromax A110 android phone.

1.) Model Number : Micromax A110
2.) Firmware Version : 4.04
3.) Baseband Version : MAUI.11AMD.W12.22.SP.V5.P2, 2012/09/19 15.39
4.) Kernel Version: 3.0.13
5.) Build Number : ALPS.ECS2.MP.V1

The service provider is Vodafone India, Unlocked and I am using GPRS/EDGE service from Vodafone India.

Problem:

Two weeks back i was downloading one attached file from email attachment while I was travelling through an area where the signal strength was poor.

The downloading preparation started, but actual downloading did not. It just went on, and I found that there is no link for this downloading which is shown in the notification area and the Gmail application which started the downloading.

I was searching in the "downloads" in the menu and found that this downloading is not registered,

Since then, I am seeing the downloading notification and it is just continuing.

Can any body explain me what is this? Is it a bug of ICS? Any way to remove this ?

First of all it would be better if you can install any latest firmware in this phone.

Secondly if you are facing such issue then open that application with Google Play and uninstall it completely.

When you will install it again then it will be installed very smoothly.

This happened with me also and I did the same procedure.
