Root Problem during switch between ICS-ROMs for SGS

Dear people.
I just tried switching for teamhacksung's ICS to AOKP, but something went wrong. I tried to simply install the AOPK zip using clockworkmod, but that didn't go well. AOKP has worked for a short while, but I couldn't get into recovery mode anymore (apparantly AOKP deleted this or turned it off or something). After a view somewhat rough reboot AOKP also stopped working and left me in an eternal boot cycle. The only thing that I can still get into is Download mode. I understand very little about Odin, and most tutorials assume that you update from Gingerbread, which isn't my case, since I already had another ICS ROM installed before, so I don't know what I should do to get CWM working again and flash a working AOKP (or possibly another ROM but AOKP seems like on of the most complete ROMs to me). I have very little experience with Odin, so that isn't helping either. preferably I would not format my memory but keep everything currently stored on my phone on it (it contains some files and some Titanium Backups), but if it is really necessary, so be it.
Can anyone tell me what to do?

Also will be helpful if you can tell us what phone you are using, so we can direct you to the right forum, every phone is a little different. :)

O yes, excuse. I forgot there are lots of versions of this thing. My carrier is the Dutch T-mobile, but this phone is the simlock free international version.

But you linked to the S2, that is a completely different phone, even more so than the different versions of the S1.
